What Is Carbon Credit?

The carbon credit market is a system that rewards people and businesses for reducing their carbon emissions. For every ton of carbon dioxide that you removed/captured or avoided, you can earn a "carbon credit." These credits can be sold to other companies that need them to meet their environmental goals, such as offsetting their factory emissions. For example, when your crops absorb carbon dioxide, carbon credits are generated. You can sell these credits- creating an additional income stream. This system encourages everyone to work towards slowing down global warming and helps fund projects that protect the environment.
